October 2014 – 5 pm to 7 pm – Date TBA
Each October the Dakota Discovery Museum hosts the Haunted Village for children. This free event for families and children ages 10 and under features fun and crafts for the kids! There is treat bag printing, pumpkin painting and refreshments. Children receive treats from the Grim Schoolmarm at the 1885 Territorial Schoolhouse, the ghosts of the 1886 Beckwith House, the lonely 1914 Depot agent and the denizens of the 1908 Church.
In 2013, the event was sponsored by Hanselman’s Pumpkin Patch. Donations are welcome and go to benefit the programs of the Dakota Discovery Museum.
The Haunted Village children’s event is held in the Historic Village on the grounds of the Dakota Discovery Museum located on the Dakota Wesleyan University campus, 1300 McGovern Avenue in Mitchell, SD. For more information call 605-996-2122 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
